Teaching myself to sew

Thanks to my mother-in-law, she brought me a sewing machine that she no longer used. And we decided that it would be fun to teach me to sew. And I enjoyed it so much that I decided to purchase myself a new Husqvarna Viking.

I also purchased my daughter one. She is also teaching herself to sew...kinda' the blind leading the blind.
But I love seeing the completion of a project, which makes me smile.
Well I have managed to make the following:

(2)aprons
(3) dog beds
(2) christmas runners
(6) pillows
(1) laptop case
(2) purses

**does anyone see a pattern here....most of them are squares and rectangles....ha...that is easy....
However the purses and the laptop case, well, they kicked my behind. The first attempt on the laptop case wound up a pillow....bahahaha....good thing I had polyfill.
